Two Arrested In Limestone County; Charged With Explosives or Destructive Device And Theft Charges

ATHENS-On July 26, 2024, Limestone County Investigators were searching for a stolen motorcycle. Lt. Jay Stinnett encountered a male and female pushing a motorcycle on Zehner Rd. When Lt. Stinnett attempted to make contact with the subjects, they fled on foot. Investigators located two book bags that the subjects dropped while fleeing. Inside one of the book bags, they found what appeared to be a homemade explosive device. Investigators secured the scene, and the Huntsville Bomb Squad was notified and responded. While on scene, the Huntsville Bomb Squad was able to confirm that the device was, in fact, a homemade explosive and was able to render it safe. The subjects who fled were located and arrested. As of Monday afternoon, both subjects remained in the Limestone County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
Terry Lee Cline, of Athens, AL, has been charged with Theft of Property 1, Attempting to Elude, Explosives or Destructive Device, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and six additional outstanding warrants. Cline’s total bond for all charges is $49,250. However, Cline is being held in the Limestone County Jail without bond on a State Probation Revocation Warrant.
Amber Nicole Barnes, of Athens, AL, has been charged with Explosives or Destructive Devices, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Attempting to Elude, and three additional outstanding warrants. Barnes’ total bond for all charges is $33,800. However, Barnes is being held in the Limestone County Jail without bond due to several Alias Warrants.
