TVAA Summer Art Camp 2020 July 6-9

TUSCUMBIA-The Tennessee Valley Art Association Summer Art Camp for 2020 will be held July 6 through July 9 at the Tennessee Valley Museum of Art, 511 North Water Street in Tuscumbia.

Junior Artisits will develop  fundamental skills while exploring multiple mediums such as pastels, acrylics, colored pencils, and more while producing works in drawing, painting, printmaking, collage and multi-media. The Junior Artist sessions will be led by veteran artists & art instructors Barb Hendricks, Pam Wright, Paige Stevens, and Amita Bhakta….Junior Artist session — entering 3rd – 6th grade.   Classes will be held July 6 – July 9    9:00 am – 3:00 pm and July 10 9:00 am -12:00 noon.
Advanced Artists will work with the highly skilled portrait artist Martha Carpenter to explore advanced drawing techniques, learn new skills and refine existing techniques…Advanced Artist session – 7th – 12th grade.  Classes will be held July 6 – July 9 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

Students will be actively engaged in learning each day.  July 10 will conclude with an informal Student Exhibit from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon.

The Art Camp is held because being creative is a natural part of every child’s development. Art and creativity is a fundamental part of being a human being. The creative skills and creative problem-solving students learn will benefit them throughout their life…..and kids just like having fun!

The TVMA will maintain social distancing and all recommended CDC COVID-19 procedures throughout the camp. Students will work at their own workstation and each use a separate set of materials.
