Portion of TVA walking trail closed for construction.
MUSCLE SHOALS-On Wednesday, August 29 TVA announced that a short portion of the TVA Muscle Shoals Reservation walking trail will be closed until October 1st.
In the TVA media release it was stated utility workers are constructing a new road crossing on Reservation Road to enhance access to TVA’s facility. The section of trails closed is on the south side of Reservation Road about half a mile west of the Singing River Bridge. The closed portion is less that 100 yards long. There are signs posted showing the area closed, which lies between the Nature Trails entrance and the approach to Singling River Bridge.
There will be no foot traffic allowed on this section of the trail during construction, although at the time these photos were taken on Thursday morning, numerous runners were observed ignoring the signs and passing thru the closed section.
TVA will reopen the trail on October 1 when construction has been completed.
