KNOXVILLE, TN – The Tennessee Valley Authority is asking the public to provide input on the potential environmental impacts of a new solar project in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Details of the review of the Elora Solar Center Project are available in a draft Environmental Assessment at www.tva.com/nepa.
TVA has entered into an agreement with Elora Solar LLC to purchase the power generated by the proposed Elora Solar Project, which is expected to be up to 150 megawatts alternating current. The proposed solar facility would be constructed and operated by Elora Solar LLC.
The draft EA includes two alternatives: a No Action Alternative and an Action Alternative. Under the No Action Alternative, TVA would not purchase the power generated by the project under the 20-year agreement with Elora Solar, and TVA would not be involved with the project. Under the Action Alternative, Elora would acquire approximately 1,702 acres of land in Lincoln County, Tennessee and construct, operate, and maintain a single-axis tracking photovoltaic solar power facility of up to 150 megawatts alternating current generating capacity. TVA would purchase the power generated as agreed under this option.
Comments on the draft EA should be submitted or postmarked no later than Jan. 3, 2020.
