Tuscumbia Police Locate; Arrest Escapee From Franklin County

TUSCUMBIA-On Tuesday, April 23 patrol officers, investigators and members of the Tuscumbia Special Operations Group located an escapee from Franklin County inside a Tuscumbia Home. A tip to police told them that it was possible that the escapee was hiding in a house where the resident was in the hospital. Permission to search the residence was obtained from the owner of the home.

At approximately 4:15 pm officers made entry into the home and located Richie Oneal Landers, age 51 of Frankln County hiding in a bedroom closet. He was served a 1^st degree escape warrant and taken into custody without incident. As of the writing of this release he is being detained at the Tuscumbia Police Department awaiting his return to the Franklin County Jail.
