Tuscumbia Police Investigating Gunshot Fatality

TUSCUMBIA-At approximately 7:05pm on Sunday August 6^th the Tuscumbia Police Department received a call of a possible shooting victim at a residence located at 1110 Paul E Johnson Drive in Tuscumbia. Once officers arrived they located a male laying in the floor of the residence with what appeared to be several gunshot wounds to the body. Medical personnel on the scene confirmed that the victim was deceased and investigators with the Tuscumbia Police Department were immediately notified.

The victim is identified as 28 year old Nathan Littleton. He shows a current address in Florence but investigators are still in the process of determining his exact residence at this time. Following consultation with Colbert County District Attorney Hal  Hughston Mr. Littleton’s body has been transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

At this time the case is considered a death investigation pending the outcome of the autopsy as well as physical evidence and witness statements obtained during the course of the investigation. Investigators are actively seeking any information related to this case as well as any witnesses that may have information pertinent to this case. There have been no charges at the time of this release made in the case.
