Tuscumbia Man Dies After Being Struck By Dump Truck

TOWN CREEK-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident involving a pedestrian in Town Creek has taken the life of one person:

“A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. Monday, October 7, has claim the life of a Tuscumbia man.

The pedestrian, Cedrick E. Garrett, 42, who was walking in the roadway, was fatally injured when he was struck by the 2023 Kenworth T880 dump truck driven by James G. Smith, 44, of Rogersville. Garrett was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 20 near Lawrence County 273, within the Town Creek city limits.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
