Tuscumbia Man Charged With Murder And Abuse Of A Corpse In Thursday Homicide

TUSCUMBIA-Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan said murder charges have been file against Marlan Phillips, 32.  Phillips is being charge with A class A felony Murder charge as well as a class C felony charge of Abuse of a Corpes.

Logan says that a family member found Parrish dead in her home in the 100 block of Monroe Drive in Tuscumbia on Thursday, August 10.  He said police were called to the home through a 911 call.

Parrish had multiple stab wounds and her body has been sent to Huntsville for an autopsy to determine the excat cause of death.

Bond has been set in this case at $5000,000 as Phillips awaits transfere to the Colbert County Jail.
