MONTGOMERY-During a routine traffic stop on Thursday, August 20, Alabama State Troopers discovered a female transporting over 100 pounds of illegal methamphetamines, disguised as candy, beverages, and other snacks, into Alabama.
Around 3:30 p.m., an Alabama State Trooper stopped Graciela Mora, 43, of

San Benito, Texas for an improper lane change on Interstate 65 in Baldwin County. During the traffic stop, the State Trooper uncovered 64 pounds of liquid beverages and 43 pounds of individually wrapped candy and snacks containing methamphetamines. The State Trooper contacted the State Bureau of Investigation’s (SBI) Narcotics Investigators, who responded to investigate.

“Alabama State Troopers patrol the roadways of Alabama every day and frequently encounter drivers with narcotics and other illegal items. This discovery is particularly troubling because of the large amounts of methamphetamines that have been concealed in packaging that targets children,” said Secretary of Law Enforcement Spencer Collier. “Alabama State Troopers protect the citizens of Alabama and proposed Legislative budget cuts of 22 to 47 percent will have a detrimental effect on our agency. We ask that citizens contact their Legislators and ask them to support Governor Bentley’s solution to the budget crisis and put our state on a strong path forward.”
Mora was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and was transported to and booked in the Baldwin County Corrections Center on a $1,000,000 bond. Nothing further is available as the investigation continues.
