Tressie Weeks Cooper, age 93, of Tuscumbia, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024.
Tressie was our blue-ribbon cook, travel buddy, cornbread maker, dancer, shopper, cornhole champion, card sender and lipstick queen. She lived her very best life right up to the very end. We are going to miss her until we see her again.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Cooper; son, Donny Cooper; father, Grady Weeks; and mother, Virgie Newell Weeks; and her brothers and sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Shirli “Sherry” Bruce; son, Jerry Cooper (Molly); daughter-in-law, Shelia Cooper; grandchildren, Robbie Swinney, Mark McNatt (Nina), Shannon Alred, Crystal Locklar (Jacob), Andrea James; great-grandchildren, Kassie Franks (Jesse), Sara Hurst (Derek), Juliette Locklar, Abigail Locklar; great-great-grandchildren, Victoria Moody, Jaston Franks, Emmett Franks; and a host of nieces & nephews.
The visitation will be 11:00 – 12:00 noon, Wednesday, February 07, 2024at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 12:00 noon, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Greg Beasley and Bro. Ted Vafeas officiating the service. Burial will at Liberty Hill Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Mark McNatt, Robbie Swinney, Steven Thompson, Jesse Franks, Tommy Whitehead, and Mike Smith.
