Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Tressie Mae Perry Gipson, age 88 of Murfreesboro. Mrs. Gipson passed away Saturday April 4, 2020 at her home while surrounded by her family. She will be remembered as an awesome cook and a very talented and creative seamstress. In the 1960’s she worked as a cook at Glenn Cliff High School in Nashville. In the early 70’s she worked at the lunch counter at Walgreens on Harding Place in Nashville. In her retirement years, she enjoyed yard sales, collecting Chinas dolls, babysitting her grandchildren and tending her beautiful flower gardens. Mrs. Gipson is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lee Gipson; mother, Lena Crabtree Perry, father, Bailey Perry; 15 siblings. She is survived by sons, Bailey (Helen) Gipson of Murfreesboro, Joseph (Donna) Gipson of Smyrna, Mark Gipson of Murfreesboro and Mike (Karen) Gipson of Manchester; brother, Hubert (Glenda) Perry of Estill Springs; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 8, 2020 between the hours of 11:00am and 1:00pm at Watson-North Funeral Home. For those who so desire, a register book will be placed outside the front doors of the funeral home during visitation hours. A graveside service will be conducted at Watson-North Memorial Park at 1 p.m. Wednesday April 8, 2020. For those who so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be the charity of one’s choice.
