Travis L. Moore, age 81, of Summertown,TN passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his residence. He was a native of Summertown, TN, served as a Lawrence County Commissioner, retired from Lawrence County Highway Department, and a former volunteer at the Summertown Fire Department.He enjoyed riding horses and farming. Travis was a member of Summertown Baptist Church, a trustee at Brace Cemetery, and a graduate of Summertown High School; class of 1961.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Oscar “W.O.” and Vernice Gilbreath Moore; two sons, Kevin and Richard Moore; one son-in-law, Jerry Ray; one grandchild, Katie Steadman; one great-grandchild, Connor Chambers.

 

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Peggy Moore of Summertown, TN; two daughters, Benita Ray of Summertown,TN, and Jennifer Collier (Bruce) of Summertown,TN; one sister, Glenda Burdette (Billy) of Summertown, TN; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Chambers (Jon), James Ray, Phillip Ray, Andrew Collier, Evan Collier, Anna Collier, Garrett Moore, and Leah Moore; three great-grandchildren, Brandi Chambers, Colton Chambers, and Jamie Chambers.

 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday, December 13, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and Internment will be conducted at Brace Cemetery at 1:30 PM on Friday, December 13, 2024, with Tommy Lee Kidd officiating. Family requests memorials be made to Brace Cemetery.
