Mr. Travis Hackney, age 83, passed away early Monday in Jackson. He was born March 15, 1941 in McAndrews, Kentucky to the late Landon and Dora Lee Blackburn Hackney. He was a retired machinist for General Motors and a member of Unity Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved going fishing with his grandchildren and was a regular helper with the Meals on Wheels Program.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mrs. Carol Bell Hackney; his son, Mr. Rex Hackney; three daughters, Rhonda Boone (Robby), Cheryl Justice (Joe), and Lora Hackney; brother, John Hackney; two sisters, Barbara Blackburn and Linda Blackburn; four grandchildren, Ashley Ross, Andrew Justice, Landon Roth, and Dillon Roth; eleven great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM, Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 4 – 8 PM, and on Wednesday, 11 AM – 1 PM at Pafford Funeral Home.
