ATHENS-The Athens Police Department made arrests of three suspects on Saturday, November 7 on drug charges. Police Chief Floyd Johnson of the Athens Police regarding the arrests:
“Early Saturday morning the police department received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Athens Limestone Blvd. Officers located the car on Athens Limestone Lane. When officers checked the vehicle they located a male and a female. Officer Megan Meredith and Officer Jared Cook were able to smell
the odor of alcohol. Upon further investigation Meredith located a baggie of Methamphetamine and 18 alprazolam tablets. Officers also located Marijuana and a straw with residue on it and a syringe. Officers arrested Tina Elaina Morrison on 2 counts of possession of controlled substances. Jerry Mitchell Tucker was also arrested for possession of Marijuana 2nd degree, Possession of
drug paraphernalia and 2 counts of Possession of a controlled substance. While officers were on the scene they located Valentine Nava. After a brief investigation officers located an additional 9 ounces of Methamphetamine. The value of the Methamphetamine is estimated to be around $25,000.00. Nava was charged with trafficking in Methamphetamine. All three were subjects were booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail. The investigation into these cases is continuing at this time. “
