Tony R. Casson – Obituary

The funeral and burial for Tony R. Casson, 69, of Killen will be Saturday, August 18, 2012, 11am at First Baptist Church of Killen.  Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 at FBC of Killen. Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.

 
Mr. Casson, who died Wednesday at ECM Hospital, is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cindy Casson; daughter Heather Holmes (Jason); son Joshua Casson (Vickie); mother Jeane Casson; sister Nancy Diegel (Archie); and three precious granddaughters, Evelyn Casson, Audrey Casson, and Ella Holmes.  He is preceded in death by his father, James D. Casson.
 
Mr. Casson was a proud veteran of the Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War where he earned an Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School, and attended Tennessee Tech and UT Chattanooga.  He retired after 29 years from TVA and was a member of Shoals Master Gardeners, Bi-Centennial Volunteers, TVA Retirees Association, and the Killen Beautification Committee.
 
Mr. Casson was an active member of First Baptist Church of Killen.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the FBC Killen Building Fund.
 
Pallbearers are Norman Fleming, Mike Herston, Ron Maxwell, Donald Scott, Leon Smith, Frank Spires, Terry Thomas and Bobby Young.  Honorary Pallbearers are Gerry Bernauer, Tony Burks, Mike Carnes, Archie Diegel, Larry Hill, Jason Holmes, Dell Rucks, Jeff Rucks, Roger Rucks, Mitchell Seay and Greg Vandiver.
