Tommy Wayne Patterson, age 45, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016. He was born Oct. 2, 1970, in Sheffield, Alabama. He graduated from the University of Alabama and obtained his law degree from Jones School of Law. Survivors include his fiancée, Deanna Barrett, and her children, Nick Savannah and Logan Barrett; granddaughter, Sophia Barrett; two sons, Mitchell and Turner, of Greenville, Alabama; a brother, Randy Patterson, of Sheffield, Alabama; and a sister, Sydna Patterson Mathes (Greg), of Tallahassee, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Patterson and Cecilia Makin Patterson, of Sheffield, Alabama. Tommy had a great love for Alabama football. He fostered many homeless animals due to his kind heart and respect for them. The family will receive friends for a celebration of Tommy on Sunday, July 17, from 2-4 p.m. at Cox Blvd. Church of Christ, Sheffield, Alabama (Tea Room).
