Tommy Ray Hay, Sr. Tommy Ray Hay, Sr., age 74, a longtime resident of Santa Fe, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points and Keith Baker officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Johnsons Chapel Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

One of eleven children, Tommy was born on May 18, 1949, in Maury County, Tennessee, and was the son of the late Leslie “Ted” Carroll Hay and the late Annie Laura Henson Hay. He attended Santa Fe School and enjoyed working at the Potts’ Sawmill in the Fly Community. He was baptized at an early age at Johnsons Chapel Baptist Church where he was a member. Tommy enjoyed fishing, riding horses, and playing horseshoes.

 

He is survived by his son, Tommy (Paula D.) Hay, Jr. of Centerville, Tennessee, siblings, Leslie (Debbie) Hay of Columbia, Tennessee, Betty Turner of Santa Fe, Tennessee, Sarah Griggs of Franklin, Tennessee, Gary Hay of Santa Fe, Tennessee, Darlene Richardson of Fairview, Tennessee, grandchildren, Anna Hay, Aaron Hay, Colby Hay, Cody Hay, six great grandchildren, step children, Morris Wayne McNeese, Jerri Fay McNeese, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Nolan Hay, Glen Hay, Danny “Pete” Hay, Robert “Bob” Hay, sister, Marjorie Brady, in-laws, Charles Turner, Roy Griggs, Malcom Brady, Gale Hay, and step son, Malcom Thomas McNeese.

 

Pallbearers will be John Stanfill, Joey Mills, Johnny Moss, Chris Webb, Landon Baker, Aaron Hay, and Joshua Hay.
