Mr. Tommy NeSmith, age 67, of Decatur, Alabama, died on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Memorial services will be seven o’clock p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2020, in McRae Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Aaron Johnson and Bobby Thomas officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until service time at the funeral home. The family request adherence to the current health restrictions of masks and social distancing. Mr. NeSmith was born in Marshall County, Alabama, on January 8, 1953, to Travis Neal and Phyllis Buchanan NeSmith. He has been in the automobile industry his entire working career. Currently serving as used car manager with Lynn Layton Chevrolet of Decatur.
Mr. NeSmith is survived by his Wife: Janet Giles NeSmith of Decatur, Daughters: Jamie & Bobby Thomas of Arab and Haley NeSmith Howard of Union Grove, Grandchildren: Ethan Thomas, Owen Thomas, Kenley Howard and Kelsey Howard, Step-Children: Kimberly Hastings (Steve) and Kevin Miller (Andrea), several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, Brother: Mackey Joe & Renee NeSmith of Hartselle and Sisters: Diane & Ben Robinson and Cindy & David Mullican all of Arab, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. NeSmith was preceded in death by his parents: Neal & Phyllis NeSmith and Sister: Sherry NeSmith Earl.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Nurses and Staff of the Decatur Morgan Hospital ICU.
