Tommy Lynn Elrod, Sr., age 63, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Harmony Baptist Church with Bro. David Reeves. Burial will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. A Visitation for Mr. Elrod will be on Monday Evening, January 25, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Brownsville Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN. Tommy was born on January 31, 1957. He resided in Bolivar, TN and worked as a general laborer. He served in the Tennessee National Guard. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping. Family and friends were important to him. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by one son, T.J. Elrod (Holly) of Darden, TN; one daughter, Teresa Elrod of Toone, TN; his girlfriend, Rachel Wilkerson of Somerville, TN; one brother, Charles Elrod (Barbara) of Brownsville, TN; three sisters, Denise Phillips of Jackson, TN, Norma Austin (Jessie) of Brownsville, TN and Belinda Potter of Brownsville, TN. He leaves a legacy of four grandchildren, Quin Brown, Emma Brown, Charlee Elrod and Collin Elrod. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Judy Phillips Elrod; his parents, Charlie Albert Elrod and Alice Elrod; one daughter, Allison Norvelle Elrod and one grandchild, Jeremiah Elrod. Pallbearers for the service are Jason Phillips, Justin Phillips, Chris Austin, Caleb Potter, Nathan Phillips, Seth Williams and Ian Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are the grandsons, Quin Brown and Collin Elrod. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be given to the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Judy Hardister, 523 Monroe Street, Brownsville, TN 38012.
