Tommy Lee Coats, 82, of Florence, passed away March 3, 2015, at Glenwood Health Care Center. He was a member of the Florence Baptist Church, a retired painting contractor, Scout Master for Troop 25 for 20 years, and he loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports. Mr. Coats was a loving husband and father.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 7, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Phillip Skipworth and the Rev. Scott Coats. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Coats was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Henrietta Coats.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Aline Coats; sons, Roger Coats (Barbara), Tommy Coats (Andrea), and Tony Coats (Denise); daughter, Terri Coats Breece; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
