Tommy-Pickle-1430931461Tommy Joe Pickle was born August 21, 1938 in Selmer, Tennessee, the son of the late Irvin O. and Ruth Brush Pickle.

Mr. Pickle was a co-owner of Pickle Grocery Store. He also managed the Selmer Pool Hall and retired from Tru-Savers Hardware. Mr. Pickle was a people person. He loved being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Pickle was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church.

Mr. Pickle departed this life on May 5, 2015 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 8 Months, 14 Days. He is survived by a son, Joey Pickle and wife DeLana of Corinth, MS; a son-in-law, Ken Dean of Iuka, MS; a sister, Peggy Griffin of Selmer, TN; three brothers, Johnny Pickle and wife Donna of Bethel Springs, TN, Bobby Pickle of Selmer, TN, and Jackie Pickle and wife Erin of Bethel Springs, TN; three grandchildren, Justin Pickle, Joseph Dean, and Kendra Dean; 4 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pickle was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Dean; a brother, Billy Hugh Pickle; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Pickle and Durell Pickle; and a brother-in-law, Carey Griffin.

Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 9 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2015 and services held on 3 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tennessee, with James Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethesda Cemetery at Selmer, Tennessee.
