Tommy Gene Harbin – Obituary

Tommy Gene Harbin, 71 years old of Tuscumbia, passed away February 17, 2019 at his residence.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from noon to 2 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Bro. Corey Nicholson and Bro. Greg Beasley officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Chapel Cemetery.

Tommy was born May 20, 1947 in Franklin County to Cecil and Etta Harbin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Kenny Harbin. Tommy was Vietnam War veteran and was also a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Harbin; his children, Brent Harbin, Jennifer Benson (Steven) and Tara Pearce (Thomas); his siblings, Shirley Richey, Elba Hayes, Reba Pace, Ray Harbin and Deborah Nicholson; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Caden Benson, Carson Benson, Steven Benson, Jordan Davis, Joshua Nicholson, Jamie Richey, Thomas Pearce and Dakota Harbin.

Honorary pallbearer will be Ben Pearce.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jeremy Thompson, Dr. Bo Mansell and Kindred Hospice.

Akins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
