Tommy Faye Pugh – Obituary

Funeral for Tommy Faye Pugh, 77, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 7, 2014, will be Wednesday, April 9th at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Wren Alabama, where she was a member. Bro Randy Copeland, Bro Neil Carter and Dr. Tommy Whitlow will be officiating with Elliott Funeral Home Directing.
Burial will be at Montgomery Cemetery.
Tommy Faye was born December 29, 1936 in Lawrence County to Tom and Louida Woodard. She graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1955. A devoted wife, mother, sister and friend, Tommy Faye worked as chief clerk and retired as the Lawrence County Tax Collector after 30 years of service. Tommy Faye loved her family and friends and always placed the need of others before her own. She loved gardening and spending time with family and friends and cat, “Baby”. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verbon Pugh.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Heflin and husband Mike; one son Mike Pugh and wife Terri; one sister Betty Stephenson and one brother, Murry Woodard; grandchildren; Alisha Heflin, Chris Pugh and wife Laura, Matthew Pugh and Rachel Heflin.
Pallbearers will be Chris Pugh, Matthew Pugh, J. F. Stephenson, Jr. Daniel Stephenson, Jeff Woodard, John Montgomery, Collins Montgomery, Michael Hackney.
