Tommy DuRand Smith, age 63, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, June 05, 2024 at Lawrence County Medical Center in Moulton.
Tommy loved playing the guitar and loved singing. He worked as a lineman for many years and served as an ordained Baptist minister. He had a feisty personality to match his fiery red hair. He always said his dad was his hero. He will live on forever in the hearts of his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Rita Smith; parents, Theron Austin & Celia Montez (Criddle) Smith; and brother, Austin Bradley Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his long-time companion, Valerie Marie Puckett; stepchildren, Jamie Dillard and Billy Hine; grandchildren, Carrie Olvaria, Sebastian Olvaria, Violet Dillard; siblings, Judy Carol Smith Pounders, Joel Kelly Smith (Delores), Kathy Marie Smith McCullar (Darrin); and several nieces & nephews.
The time of visitation will be 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the memorial service following at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel. Bro. Roger Risner will speak at the service.
