Tommy Claude Smith Jr, age 90 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma. He was born in Franklin County, Tennessee on October 20, 1930 to the late Tommy Claude and Nancy Beulah (Wagoner) Smith Sr. Tom was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had been stationed for four years at Elgin Air Force Base in North Florida. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Before his retirement, he was in personnel management at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and a realtor for Ben Porter Realty in Huntsville. He also owned Tom Ann Ceramics and Cindy-Lu’s Arts and Crafts Store in Huntsville for many years. Tom loved to work in the yard and always had a very productive garden. In his later years, he enjoyed collecting antiques and collectables. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren. He was a devoted member and deacon at Beech Hill Baptist Church in Winchester. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his first wife of nearly fifty years, Anna Faye Richardson Smith; and siblings, Leroy Damron and Norman Damron. He is survived by his wife, Blanche Dolores Brinkley Smith; daughters, Cynthia Rhonda Smith (Roland) Griner of Winchester and Nancy Louise Smith (Jason) Hamby of Cumming, Georgia; grandchildren, Heather Michelle Griner (Dave) Barklow of Bozeman, Montana, Holly Amanda Griner (Matt) Rongey of Tallahassee, Florida, and Brenton Joseph (Ashley) Hamby of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Anna Caroline Rongey, Adalyn Grace Rongey, and Brooks Roland Barklow. Services will be held at a later date.
