Tommy Armstrong, 54, of Pocahontas, departed this life Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Bolivar General Hospital.
He was born September 18, 1961, to Charlie Armstrong of Silerton and the late Carolyn Ann Griffin Armstrong and had lived in Hardeman County since 1979. He worked as an OTR driver for over 25 years, most recently working for Roger Henson Trucking Company. An 8 year US Navy veteran, he enjoyed fishing, working around the house and seeing all the places he would visit while driving though the United States. Mr. Armstrong was Baptist in faith.
Survivors include his father, Charlie Armstrong of Silerton; a wife, Glaydine Armstrong of Beech Bluff; children, Jennifer Lewis of LaCrosse, WI, Timothy Wayne Wing and Michael John Wing, both of Bolivar; a sister, Traci Mayfield of Silerton; and 8 grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Armstrong and a niece, Leah Mayfield. The family requests memorial donations in Tommy’s name be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
