Tommie Lou Staples, age 95, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at her residence.
Tommie Lou was co-owner with her husband, Bob, of the Red Rooster stores for thirty plus years. She enjoyed camping and traveling in the RV with Bob where they made many wonderful memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bob Staples; son, Lawrence Alan Staples, daughter, Patricia Clark; father, Tommy Kimbrough, mother, Sally Kimbrough; and sister, Lucille Fuller.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Paul Tommy Staples (Kaylen); grandchildren, Robert Staples (Tina), Patricia Jacobs, David Staples (Lia), and Betsy Miniclier; great-grandchildren, Zack Jacobs, Wesley Staples, Sidney Rhine (Jeremy), Henry Staples, and Allison Staples; sister, Dannie Parker; niece, Sally Gusmus (Randy); and nephew, Jim Parker (Diane).
The visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel Burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Zack Jacobs, Wesley Staples, John Alan Miniclier, Jeremy Rhine, Willie Patrick, and Frankie Hammock. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Staples and William Miniclier.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Willie and Diane Patrick and Kindred Hospice nurses, Kerry, Whitney, and Carmen.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
