Tommie Earline Gortney Olsen, born February 20th, 1936, was 86 years old of Hazel Green, Al. She was raised in Allsboro, AL and passed away Tuesday, January 17th, 2023 at 9:25am at Huntsville Hospital.
She was a homemaker, a crossing guard at Huntsville Police Department, a supervisor at Huntsville H.D. Lee plant, worked at Chicago Flag Company, and was a security guard at Huntsville Hospital. She loved her family and was kind to everyone. She was a precious soul, and a Christian lady. She also loved to sew, crochet, and quilt.
She is proceeded in death by her father Coleman Gortney, her mother, Ella Vee Moore, her daughter, Wanda Jane Buford, her granddaughter, Christina Peggy Malone, and her husband, Karl Olsen.
She is survived by her husband, Freddie Seymour; her stepdaughter, Angie Seymour of Hazel Green, AL; her daughter, Donna Durham (Roger) of Iuka, MS; her son Jack W Malone Jr. (Sharon) of Huntsville, AL; her son, Perry Malone of Arab, AL; her daughter Sally Panter (Chad) of Hazel Green, AL; Her brother, Jimmy Gortney of Tishomingo, MS; her niece, Glenda Gortney Duranceau of Tishomingo, MS.
She had 19 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. There will be a private family service at Stateline Cemetery. Brother Roger Durham will be officiating. The pallbearers are Jacob Panter, Chad Panter, Clint Verge, and Clint Harrell.
