Tives “Pete” Minton, 81, of New Hope, passed away Monday. He was loved by many and loved his pets, especially Chole, SEC football, and Tennessee Volunteers. He will be very much missed by all who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by father, Nathan Minton; mother, Thelma Minton; brothers, Guy, Arthur, Clarence, Lee, Howard, Paul, Roy, and Steve Minton; sisters, Lucy Hinkle, Lassie Ray, Lena Harmon, Trula Frye, and Edna Belcher; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Morgan Downs.

He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Wanda Minton; daughter, Tonya Minton Downs; son, Trever (Angela) Minton; brothers, Curtis and Joe (Wanda) Minton; sisters, Debra (Tony) Chapman, Rosa (Fred) Harrison, Elaine Minton, Lola Dean and Margie Poteat; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Chloe.
