Timothy Ward Seaton, age 63, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends. To know Tim was to experience his unwavering loyalty, generosity, and deep affection for others. A true collector of memories and moments, Tim was sentimental to the core, always cherishing the people he met and never considering anyone a stranger. Whether it had been years since they last connected, Tim could always pick up right where he left off, making each reunion feel as though no time had passed.
One of Tim’s greatest passions was collecting stories, and he had an abundance of them. Over his long career as an optometrist, he met and formed connections with thousands of people. Tim had a unique ability to engage with others, learning their dreams, passions, and experiences. He would dive deep into conversation, asking questions that revealed the heart of a person. If you shared a new project or endeavor with Tim, he was all in—whether that meant buying your album if you were starting a music career, or keeping your business card and recommending you for years to come if you worked on cars.
A devoted father and grandfather, Tim’s pride in his children was evident to all who knew him. His journey into fatherhood began with the birth of his first son, Canaan, and it was a role he embraced fully and with great joy. Tim was a constant source of support, always eager to celebrate his children’s accomplishments and to share their stories, which were, in many ways, the ones he treasured most.
He is survived by his mother, Whitney Seaton of Columbia, TN; three children, Canaan Seaton (Shelby) of Brownsburg, IN, Jordan Seaton of Columbia, TN and Kennedy Seaton of Columbia, TN; three grandchildren Knox, Neyland and Annabelle; sister Kim Benefield (Jeff) of Columbia, TN, brother Joel (Terri) Seaton of Columbia, TN; loving companion Lisa Danford of Columbia, TN, and many nieces and nephews who will continue to share his story for generations to come.
He was preceded in death by his father and best friend, Coach Charlie Seaton and brother, Nathan Matthias Seaton, who welcome him into heaven’s gates with open arms.
In lieu of a traditional memorial we will be gathering for a celebration of life on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 2:00 PM till 4:00 PM In the clubhouse of Pillow Springs Golf Course (formerly Stoneybrook Golf Course) 119 Stoneybrook Road, Columbia, TN.
