Timothy P. Spain – Obituary

Lt. Col. Timothy P. Spain, U. S. Army, Ret., 67, of Iuka, Mississippi, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Spain retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U. S. Army. He was also an Army Ranger, and served in Vietnam, Panama, Germany, West Point, Ft. Lewis, Ft. Benning, Ft. McClellan, and several other duty stations. He loved life; and he was a good soldier. Visitation is scheduled for 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 23, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 26, at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Interment will follow in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Gwen Spain of Iuka, MS; one son, Timothy Spain, Jr. and wife, Vicki, of Fayetteville, NC; three brothers, Guy Wesley Spain and wife, Peggy, of Booneville, MS, Ray Spain and wife, Nancy, of Booneville, MS, and David Oakley Spain and wife, Gaby, of Spring, TX; one sister-in-law, Jewel Spain of Memphis, TN; one grandchild, McKenna Maccaldi of Fayetteville, NC; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Blanche Oakley Spain; a brother, Jerry Spain; and three sisters, Modena Moore Scott, Margaret Mahoney, and Betty Harkins.
