Mr. Timothy "Lake" Mills  I once was blind, but now I see…

Timothy Lake Mills, born August 29, 1977, left this earthly home February 18, 2024.
Lake was born with a hereditary eye disease that caused legal blindness, but he never let that slow him down or keep him from loving life. He persevered, and at 40 years old he proudly obtained his first driver’s license, registered as a biopic driver. Lake was an avid hunter, motorcycle rider, and was an amazing stay at home dad for the majority of his children’s lives. Lake has lived with the challenge of leukemia for over 12 years and has fought many hard and painful battles with it, but throughout his 46 years of challenge, Lake never lost his love for the Lord, for his family, or for people. He loved to talk, and never seemed to meet a stranger.
He usually had a smile and loved to have others smile with him.

Lake is survived by his wife of 24 years, Melanie Morrow Mills, one daughter, McKenzie Mills, and one son, Tristen Mills. He also has 3 brothers: Ricky (Julie) McCarty, Kevin (Lisa) McCarty, Al (Lachun) Weaver, and a sister, Susan (Paul) Goodner and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lake was preceded in death by his father, James “Wiley” Mills, Mother, Peggy Anderson Mills and one brother, Wiley Keith Mills, as well as grandparents; John B. and Dorothy L. Mills and Luther and Sarah Anderson.

The family will receive friends and guest at a visitation on Friday, February 23, 2024 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Both will be at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Clay Spears with Larry McSpadden delivering the eulogy.

Special friends who will be taking Lake’s earthly body to its final resting place in Arab Memorial Cemetery are Kevin Barksdale, Brian Jones, Shaun Knight, Lindsey Lyons, Patrick Potter, and Brandon Selvage.
