Timothy Clayton Thornton Timothy Clayton Thornton, 64 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, July 17th, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Thornton was born on December 3rd, 1957, to Clayton and Joyce Roberts Thornton.

Mr. Thornton is survived by his wife Nancy Thornton; daughter Bethany Jenkins (Toby); son Cole Thornton (Chelsee); grandchildren Clark Thornton, Chandler Thornton, Campbell Thornton, Emery Jenkins, and Walker Jenkins; mother Joyce Thornton; brothers Harlan Thornton and Steve Thornton; and several nieces and nephews.

All family and friends are invited to a graveside service for Mr. Thornton on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022, at 9:00am at Roselawn Cemetery, with Brandon Pressnell officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott Passon, Jerome Harmon, Mark McElyea, John Plunk, Randy Easter, and Brandon Norwood. Honorary pallbearers are Clark Thornton, Chandler Thornton, and Walker Jenkins. Please wear bright colors or tropical prints in Tim’s honor. The family requests no flowers, but donations to be made to Hospice of Limestone County in Tim’s memory.

Tim graduated from Athens High School in 1976. He worked at New World Hair Fashion from 1979 to present, as well as a bus driver for Limestone County Schools from 2018 to present. Tim loved coaching ball, cooking BBQ, riding his Harley, going to the beach and mountains, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
