Timothy Charles Guthrie, age 73, passed away on Oct. 29, 2024, at home with his family after an illness with lung cancer. During high school he worked at Deep South Creamery in Jasper while he went to school, and after graduation, he worked for Alabama Power Company in Birmingham. He had many funny tales to share about working at both of these places of employment.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Catherine Brown Guthrie, and grandparents, Carmie and Pearl Guthrie, and Edward and Lucy Brown.
Family who remain are his father, Charles W. Guthrie, his sister and brother in law, Teressa Guthrie Rowland and Garry L. Rowland, his niece and nephew, Emily Rowland Kluesner (Adam) and Andy Rowland, and his great-nephew and niece, Sean Jaxson Kluesner(Kaitlyn) and Alexandra Kluesner.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Edgil Grove Baptist Cemetery. Reverend Hancel Cox will speak at the service with Collins Burke Funeral Home assisting.
The family would like to give thanks to Southeast Hospice and especially to Jessie, Mackenzie, and Angie for their compassionate care given to Tim at this difficult time.
