Tim Herbert Blevins, 86 of Florence passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Henry Melton officiating. Burial will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
Tim was a native of Florence and a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from Reynolds Metal Company after many years of service. Tim was a member of the Masonic Lodge #788 of Killen and Stateline Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Emma Blevins; daughter, Pam Jones; son-in-law, Jeff Trousdale; and numerous siblings.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Blevins; son Gary Blevins; daughters, Gwen Dowdy (Jim) and Kim Trousdale; son-in-law, Albert Jones; daughter-in-law, Pat Blevins; brother, Jack Blevins; sister, Mary Butler (Hollis); 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Danny McFall, the staff of Gentiva, and the Palliative Care nurses at ECM Hospital.
