Thurman York, age 96 of White House passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at his home. He was born October 16, 1927 in Ashland City, TN to Thurman and Ali Lee Lankford York, Sr. He retired after 32 years of service with DuPont. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and quilting. Mr. York won first place at the state fair with one of his beautiful handmade quilts. He also loved working on cars. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alvin York; sister, Geneva Gammon. He is survived by his loving wife, Hazel York; son, Rodney (Ramona) York; two grandchildren, Adam (Lacey) York and Jesica Hope York; five great-grandchildren, Hadlee, Hayes, Harlow, Scout and Wilder all of White House, TN. A Celebration of Life memorial service is scheduled for Monday, July 22, 2024 at 6pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Tim Singleton officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery Columbarium. Visitation is planned for Monday, July 22, 2024 2-6PM at the funeral home.
