Graveside Services for Mr. Thurman Ralph Lambert, age 89 of Ashland, were held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Ashland City Cemetery with Bro. David Holcombe officiating.

Mr. Lambert “Pawpaw” passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Lineville Health & Rehab. A lifelong resident of Clay County, he always enjoyed watching Ashland Panther Football. From being an electrician, to digging wells, carpentry, farming and poultry, he truly was a jack of all trades.Pawpaw loved going to church and socializing, and wherever he went, he found babies. He loved to sell produce just so he could talk to people. He was a very loyal man, who enjoyed building furniture for his family. Pawpaw loved Mellow Valley School, Alabama football and putting up Christmas decorations at his house. Pawpaw was a member of Calvary Church.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Emma Jean Mitchell Lambert of Lineville, seven children: Ray Lambert (Monette) of Delta, Diane Hurst (Jerry) of Shinbone, Brenda Koch (Joe) of Ashland, Ralph Allen “Junior” Lambert (Kim) of Lineville, Carol Snow (Forrest) of Ashland, Sherry Odom (Jeff) and Charlene Cotton (Andy) both of Lineville, 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and five great-great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Iona Lambert, two sons: Kennith and Jimmy Lambert, five brothers, one sister, his granddaughter, Abby Hunter and two great-granddaughters: Lucy Hunter and Elizabeth Cruise.

Active Pallbearers were: Michael Lambert, Joseph Koch, Nathanual Besley, Jay Lambert, Jed Cotton, Jeremy Hurst and Chris Lambert

Kirby McCollough served as an honorary pallbearer.

Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of the arrangements.
