Thurman L. Hardin, 74, died Monday, March 21, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice Unit. He was born November 22, 1941 in Tupelo to Clarence Hardin and Dewdrop Burleson Hardin Stone. He was a truck driver for many years driving for Flying H and WalMart. After he retired, he drove a school bus for Lee County Schools. He and his wife attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He loved music and was an accomplished guitar picker. He enjoyed traveling to Rosine, Kentucky, camping and cookouts with family and friends. He was a fixer upper and a jack of all trades.
Services will be 2 PM Thursday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Hardin of Verona; three daughters, Anita Hunter (Mike) and Lisa Richey (Gary) all of Mooreville and Tammy Bramlett (Billy) of Batesville; two sons, Terry Hardin of Verona and Thurman Hardin, Jr. (Dawn) of Nettleton; two step-daughters, Darla Anderson (Bruce) of Moody, AL and Gail Moon (Jeff) of Brewer; one sister, Doris Hood of Tupelo; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jearlean Murphree and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Josh Richey, Austin Richey, Brandon Lambert, Jonathon Betts, Dalton Anderson and Andrew Ginn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Buggs Bostick, Bobby Hardin and the schoolchildren of bus # 13.
Visitation will be 5 – 8 Wednesday and 1 – 2 Thursday.
