Mr. Thurman Elzie “T. E.” McGee, Jr. age 86, of McMinnville, TN, died Tuesday, October 04, 2022 at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital. He was born January 25, 1936, in Warren County, TN, and was a retired teacher and basketball coach from 1957 through 1988 with the Warren County School system working. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, had earned his doctorate degree many years ago, and was a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ. Mr. McGee was preceded in death by parents Thurman Elzie, Sr. and Nettie Mae Hillis McGee, sisters Mildred Johnson and Evelyn McGee Panter, and brothers Vernon Wilbur McGee and Marvin McGee. Survivors include close friend Harry Rundel Conium, family friends Stan (Melody) Hillis, and various nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and interment is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Smyrna Cemetery. ___ will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at McMinnville Funeral Home.
