UPDATE: One Escapee In Custody Two Mississippi Escapees Still At Large

UPDATE:  One of three Escapees has been captured after a morning vehicle pursuit and ground search after at least two of the escapees evaded pursuing Officers this morning in the Cherokee Alabama Area. A massive search is still underway for the remaining Escapees believed to be within the search perimeter after the Escapees ditched the stolen vehicle in which they were traveling and fled into the woods. The captured escapee is identified as Mark Lindsey 53 of Booneville. The remaining two are identified as David Glasco of Ashland and John Michael Brown of Rienzi.

RIVERTON-Three escapees from the Prentiss County Jail have been spotted near Riverton Rose Trail Road today, June 1.  Cherokee police ID’d the truck the three men took around 7:30 AM this morning. About 15 to 20 minutes after losing sight of the truck, they located the vehicle abandoned near a wooded area in the Eagle Point area near the Riverton community.

John Brown 40 of Rienzi, Mississippi, David Glasco, 38 of Ashland, Mississippi and Mark Lindsey, 53 of Booneville, Mississippi escaped from the county jail around 1 AM on June 1, but the escapee was not discovered until 5 AM.

It is believed the trio took a 2005 silver Chevrolet truck from a Mississippi home and are possibly headed to the home of Mark Lindsey’s girlfriend in Cherokee.

The Colbert County Sheriff’s office has called for a helicopter and the Lauderdale County officials have launched a boat and are searching along the shoreline of the river near Riverton.
