SHEFFIELD –ย When a group ofย business leaders formed the “Sheffield Central” organization, their plan was to showcaseย all the nifty things going on in their city. Sheffield is undergoing a remarkable renaissance ย in its Downtown District andย numerous business venues within the city limits. So they came up with an idea called “Trunk-Or-Treat”. It was a little Halloween street party. Nothing too big. Something to get the ball rolling, so-to-speak.
The ball is rolling.ย Last night and estimated 6-thousand people showed up Downtown. There were over 60 business, church groups, school and civic organizations involved. These folks were handing out balloons, candy and Halloween party-favors. There wereย hay rides and face-painting. The children and their parents were dressed up in their finest Halloween regalia. And everybody seemed to be having the time of their lives.
