Thomas Wayne Newbern, 74, of Rogersville, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at his residence. Thomas was a member of Springfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 45 years. Thomas found joy in water skiing and playing golf. He will be remembered for being the best granddaddy that loved his four grandchildren.
Visitation for Thomas will be Saturday, December 21st at Springfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Elgin from 10-11 with a memorial service following. Kenny Morgan will be officiating.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Frances Newbern; sister, Lea Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years. Sherry Newbern; daughters, Carrie Newbern, Megan (Chris) Krieger, Laura (Brandon) Nolen; grandchildren, Madie and Karlee Krieger, Bailey and Thomas Nolen; sisters, Sondra Kaminski, Sue (Kenneth) Bradford; mother-in-law, Eilene O’Mara; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special ‘thank you’ to Hospice of North Alabama and Clearview Cancer Institute for the love and care shown to Thomas.
