Mr. Thomas Wayne Baker, age 72, of Arab, Alabama passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Baker was born June 18, 1952 in Madison County, Alabama. His parents were William Carl Daniel Baker and Elsie Payne Baker. Thomas was a twenty-five year resident of Arab relocating from Union Grove. He was of the Holiness faith, a former US Marine and a truck driver by trade doing commercial hauling.
Thomas, the youngest child of eleven children, thoroughly enjoyed family time. His leisure time was spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren either playing pool and billiards, visiting flea markets, attending Native American PowWows, or visiting the local Wal-Mart. He was also an avid collector of knives and watches.
Survivors include his sons, Samuel Dewayne Baker, Nocoma Baker (Shalena) and Patrick Baker; daughter, Oneka Kent (Robert); seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and wife, Pat Laster. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elsie Baker and his ten siblings.
The family has elected cremation. A graveside memorial service will be announced when plans have been completed. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
