Thomas W. Watson – Obituary

Thomas W. Watson, 90, of Decatur passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 at his home. Mr. Watson was born June 9, 1926 to Thomas O. and Ruby Venable Watson. He was a World War II veteran where he served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman first class aboard the USS Frank Knox. He received the American Theater Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Medal (1Star) and the Victory Medal. He was retired from 3M Company and was the founder of Your Transmission Man. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth B. Watson and siblings, Laura Carroll, Van Watson and James Robert Watson.

He is survived by his son, Mike Watson and his wife, Susan.

Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Somerville Road Church of Christ followed by an 11 a.m. service with Gary Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Linda Woodruff and Dorothy Harris for their kind and compassionate care during this time.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to PACT.
