Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Lee StephensMr. Thomas “Tommy” Lee Stephens, age 70, of Arab, Alabama, passed this life on Monday, April 27, 2020 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Stephens was born in Etowah County on September 16, 1949. Tommy graduated from Emma Sanson High School and furthered his education at Athens State University achieving his Bachelors Degree. He was hired at the Redstone Arsenal Fire Department in Huntsville, Alabama as an Assistant Chief and later climbed the ladder to become their fire chief and retiring his position in 2012. Mr. Stephens proudly served his county in the U.S. Marines. He acquired many hobbies through his lifetime such as; coin collecting, knife collecting, fishing, and many years ago, being a Cub Scout Pack Leader. Tommy was a member of the Gilliam Springs Baptist Church in Arab, Alabama.
Mr. Stephens is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ms. Charlene Grady Stephens; daughter in law, Jennifer Manning Stephens; brother, James Bruce Stephens (Karen); sister, Elizabeth Ann Hulsey (Ellis).
In addition to his parents, James Edward Stephens and Dollie Faye Mashburn Stephens; Tommy is preceded in death by his son, Adam Charles Stephens.
Private Family Services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Gilliam Springs Cemetery with Bro. Frank Whitaker, officiating.
