Thomas “Milton” Rogers – Obituary

Thomas “Milton” Rogers, 90, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at his residence. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Daniel Compton officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

Mr. Rogers was an electrician and a member of South Chapel Hill Baptist Church. He was born October 22, 1923 in Decatur to I.M. and Sadie Rogers. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Annie Ruth McCleskey, Katherine Kitchens and Josephine Kitchens; two brothers, Mitchell Rogers and Donald Rogers; niece, Beverly Jackson; and nephew, J.E. Kitchens.

He is survived by nieces, Amelia Clark, Jo Wilson, Carolyn Hinkle, Nancy Paulson, Sadie Long, Donna Woods and Mary Kaye Hamilton; and nephews, Horace “Sunny” Kitchens and Elvin “Buddy” Kitchens.

Pallbearers will be Jeff McCulloch, Melvin Miller, Jon Clark, Micah Clark, Erick Sherrill and Adam Woods.

Honorary pallbearers will be H.G. Crow, Charles Long, Jerry McCleskey and Joshua Jackson.
