Thomas Martin “Tuck” Walker Jr., passed away Wednesday morning at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maxine Rice Walker, son Thomas M. Walker IIII, father Thomas M. Walker, Sr., mother Maude Darby Walker, and sister Martha Wells. He is survived by two sons, Mike Walker (wife Debbie) and Don Walker, and daughter-in- law Cindy Walker (husband Tommy). Tuck was a farmer in the Oakland community for thirty-five years, merchant, and a State employee for twenty years. His hobbies were baseball and boxing in his youth, and the raising of beagle hounds most of his adult life – having finished twenty-four field champions and hundreds of places. He was a charter member of Christ Chapel Church in Florence, a loving father and devoted husband who will be missed by his many friends and family. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 4, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Walston Cemetery, County Road 15, Oakland community. The Reverend E.M. “Doc” Shell will be presiding at the service. Pallbearers are Lon E. Harbin, Steve Murphy, David Rice, Harry McGee, Chip Davis, and David McIntyre. Honorary pallbearers are H.M. McGee, Philip Darby, Early Thompson, Randy Broadfoot, and Pete Wells.
