Thomas Malcom “Tom” Pennington, 92, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023. Visitation will be Monday, July 3rd, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Old Brick Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will immediately follow with Kerry “Bubba” Underwood officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Tom was a native of Leighton, AL, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 25 years of service, where he was a health and safety officer. Tom was also a Colbert County Commissioner for 12 years. He was a member of the Colbert County Tourism Board and the Lagrange Historical Society. Tom was preceded in death by his father, William Tom Pennington and mother, Sigalee Gargis Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara Pennington; daughters, Michele Reaves and husband Sanford and Stacy Hughes and husband Lang; grandchildren, Alec Pennington, Jennifer Reaves, Anna Grace Fuller, and Mallory Reaves; and great-grandchildren, Daniel Fuller and Mattie Fuller.
Pallbearers are Alec Pennington, Joe Keenum, Tim Underwood, Lee Smith, Carl Keenum, and Matt Underwood.
