Thomas Lee “Bo” Sides was born December 3, 1943 in Benton County, MS, the son of the late Emma Sanders Sides and Vardeman “Red” Sides.
Mr. Sides worked at Caterpillar Manufacturing in Corinth as a Shipping Technician. He was a charter member of both Guys Ruritan Club and Guys Volunteer Fire Department. He was still very active in both until his illness.
Mr. Sides was a long time member of Guys Christian Church and most recently attended Bethlehem Baptist in Guys.
He is survived by two sons, Gregory Lain Sides and Chadwick Lee Sides both of Guys, TN; six sisters: Marie Stephens of Corinth, MS, Vergie Deming of Saulsbury, TN, Mary Pearl White of Roger Springs, TN,Betty Thomas of Guys, TN, Mamie White of Memphis, TN, Dorothy Fredrick of Corinth, MS; three brothers: Eddie Sides of Guys, TN, David Sides of Eastview, TN, Johnny Sides of Henderson, KY; seven grandchildren: Jesie Sides of Corinth, MS, Logan Sides of Guys, TN, Emily Sides of Kossuth, MS, Gunner and Mason Sides of Yulee, FL, Wesley Robbins of Middleton, TN, Nina Swift of Bolivar, TN; six great grandchildren: Wyatt Oster, Caleb and Ella Corinne Sides, Ashton and Preston Robbins, Leo Swift.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Tommy Dwayne Sides; one sister, Louise Jones; and a brother, Bill Sides.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Sides departed this life on August 21, 2014 at his home in Guys, TN, at the age of 70 Years, 8 Months, 18 Days.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 6 pm until 9 pm with a funeral service held on Saturday, at 2 pm, all held at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tennessee, with Joe Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Cemetery at Guys, TN.
