Thomas L. Haley – Obituary

thomasThomas L. Haley was born in Florence, Alabama to the union of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Haley, Sr. To this union, Thomas was the second of six children.

Thomas was a committed family man who instilled a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication. He was a loving, loyal, and devoted husband; a doting and compassionate father; and a proud and adoring grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an outstanding teacher of life to all who encountered him, as he displayed his character by living the life of which he spoke.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter, Iris (Wilbert) Kiles; his granddaughter, Tanya (Santi) Hill; Papa’s great-granddaughter, Hailey Simmons(“his heart”); his sister, Dr. Dorothy Haley Smith; his sister-in-law, Josie Ellis; and a host of other friends and family.

Homegoing services will be held Sunday, January 17th at 1:00 p.m., Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, Florence, AL. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. He will be placed in the church at 12:30pm. The with public visitation will be Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 9:00am – 8:00pm.
